Hi, I’m Shelby, and I’m the founder of TUNE.

I spent the first few decades of my life using movement and dance to process my emotions, regulate my nervous system, and connect with my true Self. Of course, I didn’t realize that’s what I was doing until much later, but my parents used to say I started dancing before I learned to walk. It wasn’t until my late twenties, when I allowed my teaching career to stop me from dancing, that I began to understand just how integral that connection with my body is to my wellbeing.

Without this outlet which had always helped me integrate my experiences, make sense of what I was I feeling, and let go of what needed to be released, I was basically a mess.

I was exhausted, overwhelmed and depressed. It felt like no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t catch up on everything that needed to be done in my day-to-day life, and I found myself wondering why I was even doing most of it anyway. I was living on the other side of the planet from where I grew up at the time, an experience that initially thrilled and inspired me, and satisfied my thirst for adventure. But even that had lost its spark.

Eventually, this growing discontent led to physical symptoms which forced me to pay attention to the cues from my body. I’ve spent the last two decades studying everything from yoga and meditation to Biofield Tuning, Reiki and Somatic Experiencing. The desire to better understand and live in alignment with my true Self also motivated me to explore various approaches to talk therapy and coaching, including Compassionate Inquiry, Internal Family Systems, and Wayfinder Life Coaching.
