I started TUNE to help you remember the astonishingly beautiful truth of who you are.

(Yes, I am very aware of how cheesy that sounds. But it really is true. And we need the truth more than ever right now.)

Back when I was a kindergarten teacher, I was amazed and delighted by the heartfelt joy, wonder and tireless creativity of my students. It was contagious, and they helped me remember that we all start out this way.

At our core, every one of us is a brilliant, beautiful, infinitely creative being. You may be shaking your head right now as you read this, or simply dismissing that statement as ridiculous, because as adults, we tend to forget that we ever felt this way. Or more accurately, we tend to lose our connection to those aspects of ourself; we lose our awareness of our true Self.

Now more than ever, so many of us are completely overwhelmed, exhausted and outraged by the countless challenges and shocking realities of the world we live in today. We’re stuck in cycles of pain, anger and frustration, fueled by emotions that are too big and too complicated for us to process them on our own, without support. It can feel like we’re being crushed by the weight of it all, and by the stifling impact of unresolved stress on our bodies. We’ve forgotten our playfulness, our potential, and our power.

I believe the only way out of this mess is to rediscover the truth of who we are, and the way to do that is to learn to listen to the wisdom of the body.

I started TUNE in 2022, after completing my first Biofield Tuning Practitioner Training. I was blown away then by the efficiency and subtle power of Biofield Tuning, and my respect and appreciation for this method has only grown. I went on to complete all of the Advanced Level courses, including the first ever Level 4 Mastering the Artistry Training in 2024. Biofield Tuning remains a core element of the work I do in my Somatic Sound Therapy sessions, and I still offer Biofield Tuning as a standalone session, for those who want to experience this work in it’s purest form. However, over time, I began to include other instruments in my sessions, and I eventually felt compelled to experiment with incorporating the techniques I had learned in my somatic studies. I discovered that these two therapeutic approaches perfectly complement each other, and when combined, greatly magnify the benefits of both.

And so, TUNE Somatic Sound Therapy was born. I hope I can help you tune in to the wisdom of your body, and learn to let it guide you to a deep awareness of your true Self and the beautiful life you were always destined to live.

If you’ve already had a session with me, you probably know I love this line from the poem Wild Geese by Mary Oliver:

“You have only to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.”

With Love,

Shelby
